Mastery is not learned with the hands alone — it is felt with the heart. In a quiet workshop in Reghin, "The City of Violins", Master Luthier Vasile Mare has been transforming resonance wood into acoustic jewels that come alive in the hands of great artists for over three decades.

A Tradition Born from Passion in Reghin

My story begins in the heart of Transylvania, where I learned that a violin is not merely an object, but an extension of the musician's soul. With vast experience, accumulated through thousands of hours of meticulous work, I have refined the art of luthiery to a level of excellence. The Art of Crafting Master Instruments

"My working process is sacred. I make no compromises. I use only rigorously selected spruce and curly maple, left to dry naturally for decades to ensure exceptional stability and sonority."

• Wood Selection: We personally select the material from the Carpathian Mountains (resonance spruce).

• Hand Carving: Every arch and every purfling is hand-carved, respecting the classical proportions of the great masters.

• Proprietary Varnish Recipe: We apply successive coats of varnish based on natural resins, which protect the wood and give it that warm lustre, characteristic of collectible instruments.

The Mare Sound Philosophy

For me, success is not measured by the number of instruments created, but by the vibration a violinist feels at the first touch of the bow to the strings. My violins, violas and double basses are designed to deliver powerful sound projection, harmonic richness and an infinite chromatic palette.
